eSIM vouchers as an add-on in event registration

Add an eSIM voucher to registration for visitors from abroad, send one code per visitor with the confirmation, and keep SIM packs at the badge desk. Stand teams order data with their stand services.

Short answer: Event data starts with registration and ends at the stand. Visitors from abroad add a voucher, the code arrives with the confirmation, the badge desk covers the phones without eSIM, and exhibitors order for their stand teams.

  • An add-on in registration
  • One code per visitor
  • Stand teams from build-up
The flow

One add-on in registration. Online from the airport.

Four steps from registration to the stand. Pick one to see it.

01 / Step

Add data in registration

Show an eSIM voucher for the event dates as an add-on, only to registrations from other countries. The visitor adds it like the transport ticket or the parking pass.

How to run it.

01Set up

  • Show the add-on only to registrations from other countries.
  • Match the plan to the event dates, and a longer plan to the stand teams.
  • Check sponsor rights before launch, because some events have an official telecom sponsor.

02Registration and reminder

  • Send a one-time code for each visitor with the confirmation, never a shared promo code.
  • Repeat the install step in the reminder email, one to two weeks before the event.
  • Show the offer in the reminder only to visitors who opted in to offers.

03Badge desk

  • Keep SIM packs for phones without eSIM.
  • Check the phone at badge pickup, before the sale.
  • Check the local rules for SIM sales at the venue.

04Stand teams

  • List team data in the service shop, next to power and stand internet.
  • Set the order deadline with the other technical services.
  • Cover build-up to dismantling with one plan for each member.
Measure

Three numbers to review in a pilot.

  1. Attach rate per international registration
  2. Installs before arrival
  3. Stand teams online at build-up

Good to know
  • Data only, with no local number. Visitors keep their own number for calls and sign-in codes.
  • One code for each registered visitor. Never a shared promo code.
  • At a venue in the EU, visitors with an EU SIM roam like at home, so lead with visitors from outside the EU.
  • You send the codes in your own emails, so the attendee list stays with you.
  • The mobile hotspot is a second option for the stand team and its devices.

Who sees the add-on?

Visitors who register from another country. At a venue in the EU, lead with visitors from outside the EU, because EU SIMs roam like at home.

Can a code be shared?

Each code works once, so it cannot spread like a shared promo code. Send one code for each registered visitor.

Can we include data for speakers?

Yes. Buy vouchers for speakers or hosted guests and add them to their confirmation.

Does it replace the venue Wi-Fi?

No. The venue Wi-Fi stays in the halls. The plan goes with the visitor, from the airport to the hotel and the city.
