SIM packs at the rental counter, matched to the route

Hand over a SIM pack with the keys. Staff match the plan to the route and add it to the rental agreement.

Short answer: A rental counter knows the route and the days before the keys change hands. Match the pack to the route, check the phone, and put the pack on the rental agreement.

  • Matched to the route and the days
  • A phone check at key handover
  • On the rental agreement
The flow

Keys in one hand. Data in the other.

How a counter sells SIM packs: the route, the phone check, the agreement, and the station stock. Pick a step to see it.

01 / Step

Read the route

The booking holds the pickup country, the drop-off, and the days. A route across a border gets a regional plan.

How to run it.

01Set up

  • Map the pickup markets, the common routes, and the rental lengths to three or four packs.
  • Stock each station with a small number of packs.
  • Add the pack to the rental agreement as an extra at your price.

02At key handover

  • Read the route and the days on the booking.
  • Check the phone: unlocked, with a SIM slot.
  • Hand over the pack with the keys, and add it to the agreement.

03Stock by station

  • Count the packs each week, by station.
  • Move packs between stations when one sells faster.
  • Check the last date to activate on each pack.

04Support

  • Each pack holds the install card.
  • Choose the support split: the counter answers first, and RoamWorks handles activation.

Good to know
  • Sell a pack only to an unlocked phone with a SIM slot. Offer an eSIM voucher to a phone without one.
  • Check one-way and cross-border routes before you pick the plan.
  • Start with a small stock at each station.
  • The mobile hotspot is a second option for a car with several devices, with no phone check.

Which plan fits a route across borders?

A regional plan covers the countries on the route. Match the plan days to the rental days.

Can the pack go on the rental agreement?

Yes. Add it as an extra at your price, like a child seat or a toll pass.

What if the phone has no SIM slot?

Send an eSIM voucher by email. The customer installs it on the station Wi-Fi before leaving the lot.

How many packs should a station hold?

Start with a few packs for the routes that rent most, then reorder by sales. The partner agreement sets the order size.
