eSIM vouchers in the policy, from issue to redemption

Issue a one-time eSIM voucher with each policy, matched to the destination, the dates, and the travelers. The customer redeems before the trip, and the report shows what was used.

Short answer: A data benefit fits the policy when it follows the policy data: the destination, the dates, and the travelers. The policy admin issues one-time vouchers, the customer redeems before the trip, and the report shows what was used.

  • A rule per policy type
  • Sent with the policy email
  • A report of what was used
The flow

The policy holds the trip. The voucher holds the data.

How the benefit works: the rule, the issue, the redemption, and the report. Pick a step to see it.

01 / Step

Set the rule per policy type

One voucher for a single trip, one for each trip of an annual policy, or one for each traveler of a family policy.

How to run it.

01Set up

  • Set the benefit for each policy type: single trip, annual, or family.
  • Map the policy ID, the destination, the dates, and the email to the voucher.
  • Buy a voucher balance at a partner price.

02At policy issue

  • Send the vouchers with the policy email.
  • Add the phone check and the install steps.
  • Show the assistance app and the emergency number next to the benefit.

03During the trip

  • Claims or assistance can issue an extra eSIM from the same record.
  • Each voucher is single use and expires.

04Review

  • Read the voucher report: issued, redeemed, and expired.
  • Adjust the plan size by destination.
Measure

Good to know
  • Data only. It does not replace the assistance number or emergency services.
  • Never print the eSIM QR. The voucher holds a one-time code.
  • No payment details are stored with the benefit.

Which policies get a voucher?

Each policy type has a rule: one voucher for a single trip, one per trip on an annual policy, or one per traveler on a family policy.

When does the customer redeem?

Before departure, on Wi-Fi. The plan starts in the destination.

What if the phone has no eSIM?

The phone check says so before the customer redeems. The voucher stays unused, and the report shows it.

Can claims issue extra data?

Yes. Claims or assistance can issue a voucher for an extra eSIM from the same policy record.
