eSIM offers after the Wi-Fi login and on onboard screens

On a long coach, train, or ferry trip, show the plan for the next country after the Wi-Fi login and on screens.

Short answer: On a long trip, passengers log in to the onboard Wi-Fi and see the screens for hours. Show one plan for the next country after login and in the screen loop. The passenger taps or scans, buys in the phone browser, and installs over the onboard Wi-Fi before the border.

  • After login, never in the login window
  • A QR code on the onboard screens
  • Installs over the onboard Wi-Fi
The flow

The next country is hours away. The plan is one scan away.

Four places to show one plan on a long trip: the page after login, the onboard screens, the allowance notice, and one email for passengers who ask for it.

01 / Step

After-login offer

Show one plan for the next country on the page after login. A short link and a code open the checkout in the phone browser.

How to run it.

01Set up

  • List the routes that cross a border and the trip length of each.
  • Put one plan card with a short link and a code on the page after login.
  • Keep the checkout and the eSIM download open on the Wi-Fi when the allowance ends.

02On board

  • Run one screen spot with a QR code an hour before the border or arrival.
  • Show the plan for the next country, not a list of plans.
  • On a ferry, offer the plan for the arrival country only.

03Consent

  • Keep free Wi-Fi free of conditions.
  • Add a separate, unticked box for one email offer.
  • Send one email before arrival, only to passengers who ticked the box.

Good to know
  • The offer goes on the page after login, never in the login window. Phones can block payment and install links there.
  • Free Wi-Fi never depends on the offer. The email box is separate and unticked.
  • A ferry gets the plan for the arrival country. The plan does not work at sea.
The solution

Rail and coach

Add a data plan to the e-ticket for lines that cross a border or end at an airport. Keep SIM packs at the ticket desk for passengers who buy on the day.

Before you choose

Short answers to the common questions. The partner agreement sets the final terms.

Can the passenger buy inside the Wi-Fi login window?

Do not rely on it. On many phones the login window is a small browser that can block payment and install links. Put the offer on the page after login, with a short link, a code, or a QR code.

What do we earn?

If you link to the RoamWorks checkout, you earn a share of each sale, set in the partner agreement. If you sell in your own app or checkout, you set the price and you set the retail price. Commercial terms are agreed privately.

Can free Wi-Fi depend on the offer?

No. Keep free Wi-Fi free of conditions. Consent to an email offer is a separate, unticked choice.

Does the plan work at sea?

No. The plan uses networks on land. On a ferry, offer the plan for the arrival country. At sea, the passenger uses the ship Wi-Fi.

Does the passenger need data to install?

No. The eSIM installs over the onboard Wi-Fi. When the data allowance ends, keep the checkout and the eSIM download open on the Wi-Fi.
